The State Department official tasked with brokering critical mineral deals for the Biden administration will discuss how the U.S. is countering China at a House hearing Thursday.

Jose Fernandez, undersecretary of State for economic growth, energy and the environment, will appear before the House Foreign Affairs Committee along with Alan Estevez, who leads the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security.

House members are poised to discuss ways in which the U.S. is countering China on the world stage, empowering American businesses and denying Chinese military access to U.S. technology.
