TALLAHASSEE, Florida — President Joe Biden will visit areas of both Florida and Georgia wrecked by Hurricane Helene on Thursday, marking what may be his final trip to the Sunshine State before the end of his presidency.

The trip was announced by the White House on Wednesday afternoon, but no further details have been released yet.

Biden came to Florida last year after Hurricane Idalia ripped through roughly the same region where Helene made landfall last week. Helene then went on a rampage through the entire Southeastern U.S. that has devastated whole communities and left more than 150 people dead. The president is scheduled to tour areas in both South Carolina and North Carolina on Wednesday.

Biden’s last trip to Florida came in April when he was still a candidate for president. During a campaign event in Tampa, the president ripped into Florida’s looming ban on abortions after six weeks and said that former President Donald Trump was responsible due to his appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court.
