Biden’s EPA chemicals chief lands new job

EPA and Capitol Hill veteran Michal Freedhoff accepted a job at Holland & Knight as a senior policy adviser, the lobbying firm announced Tuesday.

Freedhoff joins the firm’s bipartisan Public Policy and Regulation Group and will focus broadly on environmental policy issues, including chemical and pesticide safety, she said.

Freedhoff most recently served as former President Joe Biden’s assistant administrator for EPA’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, where she oversaw implementation of the federal pesticides law and the Toxic Substances Control Act.

As a former Democratic staffer for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, she was among a handful of architects writing the major amendments to TSCA that Congress passed in 2016.
