Alumni from Bill Gates’ energy innovation group have launched a new organization to push renewable energy.
The Clean Economy Project debuted Tuesday, bringing together leaders who formerly worked in policy at Breakthrough Energy, which shrunk its operations earlier this year.
The group will work on policy and political efforts to build energy projects faster, accelerate innovation to lower energy costs and reduce the risks for private investors in clean energy.
“America’s economic edge will be built or lost on energy,” Aliya Haq, the group’s president and former head of U.S. policy at Breakthrough, said in a statement.
