California AG vows to ‘punch back’ against Trump admin

California Attorney General Rob Bonta pledged Thursday to be a thorn in the side of the incoming Trump administration when it comes to environmental protection.

The state was a lead player in multistate litigation that challenged Donald Trump’s energy and climate policies the first time around.

At a San Francisco news conference, Bonta said he’s ready to “punch back” when it comes to a variety of issues, including climate change.

“I don’t think there’s anything that the Trump administration won’t try in pursuit of its goals so we have to be prepared for anything,” Bonta said. “The most important thing to know is we’re ready.”
