Two federal agencies are demanding documents from a company in the midst of a controversial push to restart pipelines connecting a trio of offshore oil rigs to the California coast.

What happened: Sable Offshore Corp. disclosed in a financial filing Tuesday that it received subpoenas from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Dec. 2.

The subpoenas requested documents related to a Hunterbrook Media article, according to the disclosure. The article included a leaked recording of Sable CEO Jim Flores telling a select group of investors sensitive financial information before the company had disclosed it publicly.
