Many of the biggest names in climate and energy policy are endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris in her White House bid, citing her environmental track record as a California politician and as vice president.
Former Democratic presidential nominees, sitting senators, former Biden administration climate officials and leaders of major environmental organizations signed on this week to a letter endorsing Harris that’s a who’s who of climate heavy hitters.
“We, the undersigned, are U.S. climate, environment, and energy leaders, community members and concerned and active citizens from all regions, backgrounds, parties and generations who know that this is the decade for decisive action — to fight the climate crisis, to protect our health and communities from pollution and conserve nature for future generations,” they wrote. “For this reason, we strongly support Kamala Harris as the next President of the United States.”
Signatories include John Kerry; Hillary Clinton; and Democratic Sens. Chris Coons of Delaware, Ed Markey of Massachusetts, Brian Schatz of Hawaii and Tina Smith of Minnesota.
