Committee announces new leaders on water, pipelines

Georgia Republican Mike Collins will now help draft water infrastructure legislation.

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on Tuesday announced new chairs for subcommittees in charge of water and pipeline policy.

Georgia Republican Mike Collins will oversee the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee, which helps draft the Water Resources Development Act authorizations.

“I look forward to increasing our global trade competitiveness and hitting the ground running to cut the bureaucratic red tape that is hurting our nation,” Collins said in a statement.

Collins, who represents a district east of Atlanta, is a conservative businessman who joined the House in 2023.
