The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Monday approved the nomination of Sean Cairncross to lead the White House cybersecurity office.
The panel cleared Cairncross, former CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a federal international development agency, with some bipartisan support.
Still pending is Sean Plankey, an adviser at the Department of Homeland Security, to lead the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
The Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Monday also advanced James Percival for Homeland Security general counsel and Robert Law to become undersecretary for strategy, policy and plans.
