A House panel will meet Wednesday to discuss priorities for a major water infrastructure bill next year.

The Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment meeting will focus on “stakeholder priorities” for the upcoming Water Resources Development Act.

The biennial bill has historically passed with overwhelmingly bipartisan support and directs the Army Corps of Engineers to work on new water projects and studies. As of Friday, it wasn’t clear who would attend the hearing or what the focus would be.

The hearing comes as the Army Corps has been trying to accelerate permits and projects despite staffing shortages in some divisions.
