The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will vote on President Donald Trump’s nominees to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Thursday.
The committee heard from the picks — White House adviser David LaCerte and energy attorney Laura Swett — last week for their confirmation hearing.
Democrats were particularly keen to hear from LaCerte, a presidential adviser on personnel issues, on his experience and the agency’s independence.
“I’ll do the utmost of my ability under the law to maintain the independence of FERC, a hundred percent,” he said.
