Senate committees approved top energy and environment nominees Wednesday, including for roles at EPA and the departments of Energy and the Interior.

The Energy and Natural Resources Committee cleared Katharine MacGregor for Interior deputy secretary and James Danly for the same job at the Department of Energy. Both got bipartisan support.

The Environment and Public Works Committee cleared Brian Nesvik to lead the Fish and Wildlife Service, and two EPA nominees: Jessica Kramer to head the water office and Sean Donahue for general counsel.

Donahue got the most pushback Wednesday morning. Democrats have questioned his qualifications. POLITICO also reported Tuesday about Donahue pleading guilty last year to “driving while ability impaired.”
