The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will vote on legislation to address federal permitting and telework, among a roster of bills on tap for a Wednesday markup.

S. 4679, the “Permitting Council Improvement Act of 2024,” aims to bolster the federal bureau tasked with accelerating infrastructure project approvals.

The committee held a hearing with Permitting Council Executive Director Eric Beightel in July in which Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) questioned support for an electric transmission project.
