A conservative conservation group is spending big to keep Utah Republican Rep. Celeste Maloy in Congress.
The American Conservation Coalition political action committee, an arm of the American Conservation Coalition, has spent more than $155,000 on web advertisements, mailings, text messages and more to back Maloy ahead of the June 23 primary, federal disclosures show. It’s the most the ACC’s PAC has spent on a race this election cycle.
Maloy, first elected in 2023, chairs the Congressional Western Caucus. She is facing a challenge from former state Rep. Phil Lyman, who argues she is not sufficiently conservative.
ACC PAC did not respond to requests for comment on the campaign efforts. American Conservation Coalition Action, another affiliate of ACC, endorsed Maloy for reelection last month along with nearly a dozen other Republicans. The pro-Maloy messaging promotes her conservation record.
