Arkansas Republican Rep. Rick Crawford has officially announced his bid for the top GOP role on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee next year.

His announcement sets up a battle with current Chair Sam Graves (R-Mo.), who is seeking a waiver to remain in the post. Graves spent two terms as ranking member before becoming chair this year.

Crawford is the second-most senior Republican on the committee and chairs the Highways and Transit Subcommittee.
