South Carolina Republican Sen. Darline Graham, tapped last week to replace her late brother, is joining the Environment and Public Works Committee.
Gov. Henry McMaster (R) appointed Graham to serve out the late Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham’s term. She will fill the same committee seats he used to hold, Senate Republicans said Tuesday.
Darline Graham will also serve on the Judiciary, Appropriations and Budget committees. Wisconsin conservative Sen. Ron Johnson is taking the Budget gavel, making him a key player in upcoming party-line reconciliation legislation.
Graham was originally expected to only remain in the Senate a few months, but this week she announced her intention to run in a special GOP primary for the seat. Reps. Russell Fry and Ralph Norman are also running.
