A Senate Armed Services subcommittee will hear Wednesday from energy and environment officials from across the armed forces, on matters related to the fiscal 2026 National Defense Authorization Act.
The must-pass yearly defense policy bill generally includes provisions related to energy use on military bases, and ongoing military efforts to clean up and regulate the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances or PFAS.
Dale Marks, assistant secretary of Defense for energy, installations and environment, will make a return appearance to Capitol Hill, this time before the Subcommittee on Readiness and Management Support.
He testified last week at a Senate Approrpiations hearing about continuing cleanup efforts for “forever chemicals,” among other issues.
