Senate Democrats launched legislation Monday meant to clamp down on Trump administration exemptions for air polluters.

The “No Passes for Polluters Act,” from Environment and Public Works ranking member Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), would limit the president’s power to exempt facilities from Clean Air Act requirements.

“The Trump administration’s corrupt polluter industry bosses will abuse every loophole available to pollute for free, damn the health consequences for Americans,” Whitehouse said.
