House Democrats are demanding documents and communications from EPA, warning that the agency has halted enforcement and is enacting an agenda laid out in the Project 2025 playbook.
In a letter sent Wednesday morning to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, two Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee ticked off a list of concerns.
“We write with concern over the politicization of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and its mission to protect human health and the environment,” wrote ranking member Gerald Connolly (D-Va.) and Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.), ranking member of the Economic Growth, Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs Subcommittee.
“In particular, we are concerned that the EPA is ceasing enforcement of environmental protection laws and forcing out nonpartisan staff in an effort to enact the radical agenda laid out in Project 2025,” the lawmakers wrote.
