Dozens of House Democrats said Tuesday the Pentagon was stalling on wind project permits — amounting to a “de facto moratorium” on development.

Fifty-five Democrats, led by Rep. Seth Magaziner of Rhode Island, said onshore wind developers have reported mandatory security reviews stalling out “at all stages of the Department’s review process,” leaving “nearly 200” projects in limbo.

The Department of Defense, alongside the Federal Aviation Administration, must approve new onshore wind projects — whether they are on private or public land.
