The fate of a cluster of solar power projects in southern Nevada remains in doubt after the Trump administration’s cancellation last week of the massive Esmeralda 7 solar development.

But one company, NextEra Energy Resources, says it wants to move forward with its piece of the enormous project: the 1,000-megawatt Esmeralda Energy Center.

The Bureau of Land Management last week canceled its final environmental review. The Interior Department on Friday said that the companies that proposed the seven solar power projects included in Esmeralda 7 could move forward with their individual projects separately.

Interior declined to comment Tuesday or to say whether any of the companies had expressed interest in moving forward.
