The Department of Energy announced Friday it is postponing regulations for a larger number of home appliances.

The pause will apply to central air conditioners; washing machines and dryers; general service lamps; walk-in coolers and freezers; gas instantaneous water heaters; commercial refrigeration equipment; and air compressors.

President Donald Trump has long complained about DOE regulations that require appliance manufacturers to increase energy efficiency levels. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said the pause will cut costs.
