The Department of Energy is planning to “retain or modify” billions of dollars’ worth of Biden-era energy project financing that had been under scrutiny by the Trump administration, according to a list obtained by POLITICO’s E&E News.

The list, which is circulating on Capitol Hill, shows roughly 1,900 awards now expected to go to their recipients. They include projects that had been considered for termination, such as five hydrogen hubs located across the country. The reinstated or modified awards are in both blue and red states, and they cut across the agency, from the grid, fossil, renewable energy and minerals offices, as well as the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations and the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy program.

The list was compiled by senior DOE officials, according to four people familiar with the matter. It remains unclear if the grants might face future changes or delays.

The list also includes funding for some priorities that President Donald Trump has railed against, including hundreds of millions of dollars for automakers like General Motors and Fiat Chrysler Automotive to convert at-risk auto plants in Michigan into EV manufacturing hubs. The compendium also includes air capture and carbon capture and storage projects.
