Former Department of Energy employees are launching a formal alumni group.

The network will “serve as a platform to stay connected and keep making an impact in support of DOE’s mission,” Tarak Shah, the department’s chief of staff during the Biden administration, posted on LinkedIn on Friday.

Shah circulated a survey among former colleagues earlier this summer to gauge interest in launching a formal alumni group to support former staffers navigating career changes and to offer a platform to share insights — ”the good, the bad, the honest” — with policymakers.

The effort is coming together. “We’ve secured funding, an initial Advisory Board of fabulous former DOE Leaders, and are opening our search for an Executive Director,” he posted Friday, including a slide deck with details.
