Members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee are planning on holding a retreat in Washington on Tuesday to settle priorities for the new Congress, according to a person familiar with the plans.

The committee is one of the most important in the Republicans’ plans for party-line budget reconciliation legislation that’s expected to address energy and health care priorities, including the potential repeal of Inflation Reduction Act provisions.

Former Chair Greg Walden (R-Ore.) is expected to participate, said the person, who was granted anonymity to speak candidly. Political strategist Scott Jennings is also expected to speak.
