A House Energy and Commerce subcommittee will hold a hearing this week on pipeline safety as lawmakers look to develop a new authorization bill for the nation’s lead regulator.
The Energy Subcommittee will hold a hearing Tuesday titled, “Strengthening American Energy: A Review of Pipeline Safety Policy,” in which lawmakers will discuss priorities for legislation to reauthorize the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.
“Safe and secure pipeline infrastructure is a vital part of ensuring our nation’s energy dominance,” said full committee Chair Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.) and subcommittee Chair Bob Latta (R-Ohio).
“This hearing will provide us with the opportunity to discuss priorities for pipeline safety reauthorization and examine what steps need to be taken to build and operate pipelines safely and effectively.”
