EPA’s second-in-command pledged there will be “a reorganized EPA” but said plans are still in the works.
“Please stay tuned over the next few weeks and few months,” acting Deputy Administrator Chad McIntosh said during a conference Tuesday morning. “We’re working very hard to accomplish everything, and we’re not going to slow down. Please be patient with us. We still haven’t quite got the whole team on board.”
McIntosh’s remarks come the day after a second deadline for federal agencies to submit draft plans outlining layoffs and restructuring.
EPA has not provided specifics on what that restructuring might look like. The agency’s press office did not respond to questions before publication.
