Stephen Gordon, who ran the Trump EPA’s public engagement office, will help oversee government affairs at Chevron Phillips Chemical.

Stephen Gordon, a Trump-era EPA political appointee and former House Oversight and Reform Committee staffer, will now manage government affairs for petrochemical giant Chevron Phillips Chemical.

Gordon led EPA’s office of public engagement for a portion of the Trump administration. He then departed to serve as a staff member for House Oversight Republicans.

Most recently, Gordon spent two years as the director of government affairs at the National Electrical Manufacturers Association. He transitioned over to Chevron Phillips this month, where his official title is senior manager for government affairs.

“We are excited to welcome Stephen to our growing government affairs team,” Joel Noyes, Chevron Phillips’ head of global government affairs, said in a statement. “He brings a broad understanding of issues important to CPChem and a foundation of experience and relationships that position him well to help advance the company’s policy objectives in the key areas of plastics circularity, chemicals management, climate and environment.”
