EPA has resurrected its goal to eliminate animal testing — a commitment that unites chemical industry groups, “Make America Healthy Again” supporters and animal rights activists but sidelines scientists skeptical of valid alternative testing methods.

Administrator Lee Zeldin, joined by animal welfare advocates and former Administrator Andrew Wheeler, signed a memorandum to officially bring back an initiative to phase out animal testing by 2035.

“I’m absolutely committed to making sure EPA gets back on track with the historic goal set out during President Trump’s first term in office,” Zeldin said.
