The Food and Drug Administration tapped a top deputy in EPA’s chemicals office to join its newly reorganized human foods program.

Mark Hartman, current deputy director for programs for EPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, will take over as director of FDA’s Office of Food Chemical Safety, Dietary Supplements and Innovation on Dec. 29. The move was first reported in a Bergeson & Campbell blog post.

Hartman confirmed the move to POLITICO’s E&E News. He said in an email that his new role at FDA “is a career appointment, and I hope to be there many years.”
