The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee said it will hold a confirmation hearing next week for Lee Zeldin, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to lead EPA.
The announcement comes after the committee had been awaiting disclosures and other paperwork. The delay in such disclosures has prompted disputes and delays for other committees.
EPW Chair Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) told reporters Thursday afternoon that she and ranking member Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) had agreed to wait to schedule the hearing until they had received the last of Zeldin’s required paperwork.
EPW spokesperson Brent Scott confirmed Thursday evening that both Capito and Whitehouse had since received those forms.
