The former general counsel for the Trump administration’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency has joined Elon Musk’s technology company xAI.
James Burnham joined xAI as general counsel in November, according to his LinkedIn profile, following his stint as DOGE general counsel that ended in June.
“Thrilled to help the incredible team building the world’s foremost truth-seeking artificial intelligence at xAI and operating the worlds most important platform for free speech at X,” Burnham posted on LinkedIn this month.
“For those who value objective truth and free expression, there is no more important company in the world. I cannot imagine a better use of my time than helping our team win this global competition — one with exceptionally high stakes for us all,” he added.
