Michael Regan, who led EPA during the Biden administration, is joining Duke University’s public policy school.
Regan will be a Polis distinguished fellow at Duke’s Sanford School of Public Policy for the upcoming academic year, the school announced last week. As EPA’s 16th administrator, he focused the agency on pursuing environmental justice, aiding underserved areas that have long struggled with pollution and took a central role in the administration’s fight against climate change.
Regan’s appointment is effective Aug. 1, and he also will contribute to the Civil Discourse Project at Duke. Manoj Mohanan, the public policy school’s interim dean, said in a statement that they were “thrilled” to welcome the former EPA leader to campus.
“His impressive track record of leadership in pivotal government roles provides a unique learning opportunity for our students aspiring to careers in public service and environmental policy,” Mohanan said.
