Ex-Interior, CEQ official joins green bank as CEO

Brandi Colander has been hired as the permanent leader of the DC Green Bank.

Brandi Colander is the new CEO of the DC Green Bank, the institution announced Wednesday.

Colander, a veteran of corporations, green groups and the Obama administration, has served as chair of the bank’s board of directors since its inception and as its interim CEO since June. The bank’s board announced she’s been chosen as a permanent CEO to lead the clean energy financial institution.

“Brandi’s deep knowledge of DC Green Bank supports a seamless transition, ensuring the organization continues to deliver on its mission while also growing its reach and impact,” said Ed Hubbard, acting chair of the board of directors.

Colander’s previous roles include Obama-era appointments as deputy assistant secretary at the Interior Department and deputy general counsel at the White House Council on Environmental Quality. She was associate vice president at the National Wildlife Federation and an attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council.
