Former Trump administration energy and environment aides are publicly congratulating President-elect Donald Trump in the wake of his victory and as he prepares to hire a new slate of political appointees.
Senior Trump administration aides, including some who remain influential in Trump’s orbit, posted their support for the president-elect following his victory in Tuesday’s presidential election.
“MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” former Trump Interior Secretary David Bernhardt posted on X. “Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump!”
Bernhardt now chairs the Center for American Freedom at the America First Policy Institute, a think tank established after the 2020 presidential election that’s expected to be influential in setting up a second Trump administration. Bernhardt is seen by many energy and environment insiders as a likely candidate for a senior post in the next Trump administration.
