Federal agencies, including EPA, released updated plans this week to strengthen scientific integrity in accordance with the Biden administration’s effort to bolster quality science and data across the federal government.

Political interference in science erodes the public trust, according to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, which is following up on a memorandum issued at the start of President Joe Biden’s term, meant to walk back the perceived scientific shortfalls of the Trump administration.

Nineteen federal agencies are implementing new guidelines to safeguard science against political interference, the office announced Monday.
