The Trump administration is considering removing terms such as “water conservation,” “electric vehicles” and “fossil fuels” from documents that guide its response to natural disasters, according to an internal memo obtained by POLITICO’s E&E News.

A proposal circulating inside the Federal Emergency Management Agency marks a potentially vast broadening of phrases the administration is removing from the federal lexicon as it seeks to end efforts on climate change and racial equity.

The memo obtained by E&E News lists “DEIA and climate change terms that may violate EOs,” referring to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility and President Donald Trump’s executive orders.
