The House Appropriations Committee will release its first two spending bills for fiscal 2025, with the chamber hoping to clear all 12 before the August recess.
Committees will also continue calling up administration officials to defend the president’s budget request and regulations. Energy and environment officials are among those on the agenda.
House Republican appropriators plan to release their Military Construction-Veterans Affairs and Legislative Branch bills. The measures will reveal more about new Chair Tom Cole’s (R-Okla.) strategy.
Cole last week released preliminary top-line levels with plans to cut nondefense spending by 6 percent while boosting defense spending by 1 percent.
