TALLAHASSEE, Florida — The Florida Public Service Commission refused to reconsider its decision to approve a Florida Power & Light Co. 2025 rate hike after hearing oral arguments Tuesday.
Details: Three commissioners voted unanimously to deny a motion from the Office of Public Counsel and energy justice groups to reconsider its decision. The groups argued the PSC overlooked certain facts and laws in the case and asked the commission to issue an amended order that “accurately memorializes” the process of the commission’s decision.
PSC Chair Gabriella Passidomo Smith disagreed, saying during the commission conference that the motion to reconsider did not have a valid basis.
“The joint motion does not identify any genuine error of fact or law, rather it seems that the parties take issue with outcomes rather than process,” she said.
