Chris Krebs, the former head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, on Wednesday announced his resignation from his private sector cybersecurity job to fight back against a recent directive from President Donald Trump that stripped him of his security clearance and opened a federal probe into his tenure at CISA.
Krebs formalized his departure from SentinelOne, a top cybersecurity firm, in an email on Wednesday to the company’s employees. In it, Krebs said he is leaving his job as chief intelligence and public policy officer so he could focus fully on fighting Trump’s attacks.
SentinelOne CEO Tomer Weingarten thanked Krebs for his “transparency and integrity” in a separate email to the firm’s employees Wednesday.
“The work he led — especially in service of democratic institutions and critical infrastructure — is foundational and will continue to shape our impact moving forward,” Weingarten said in the email.
