Two former Trump Cabinet members launched a new public relations group Wednesday that seeks to promote the president’s “all-of-the-above” energy agenda.
Former Interior Secretary David Bernhardt and former Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette say they are starting the Restoring Energy Dominance (RED) Coalition to carry out President Donald Trump’s energy orders. The president has sought to ramp up oil and gas production, de-emphasize wind energy and halt former President Joe Biden’s climate spending.
Brouillette said in a press release Wednesday the group would ensure Trump would have the “support he needs to implement an all-of-the-above energy agenda that will be essential to lowering costs, creating good paying jobs, and bolstering America’s national security.”
The RED Coalition is associated with Building America’s Future, a group funded by Elon Musk, according to a person familiar with the group granted anonymity to speak freely. Building America’s Future ran ads attacking the Biden administration’s energy policies, including one television commercial in 2023 accusing then-President Joe Biden of raising gas prices by creating an “E-ZPass lane for whales in the Gulf.”
