A top Fish and Wildlife Service official lacked answers Tuesday to congressional questions about how many agency staffers have left and how many field offices have closed since the start of the Trump administration.

Though he was put on notice by similar questions raised in a hearing last month, Dave Miko, acting FWS deputy director for operations, told Rep. Sarah Elfreth (D-Md.) he was still “not in a position to speak about individual personnel matters.”

A career Fish and Wildlife Service employee, Miko similarly evaded a question about the agency’s field office closures.
