House Budget Chair Jodey Arrington introduced legislation this week that would rename the Democrats’ signature climate and drug pricing law.

The Texas Republicans’ H.R. 9798 would change the Inflation Reduction Act’s name to the “Lied About Inflation and Energy Dependence (LIED) Act.”

Arrington says the Biden administration intentionally “misled” Americans with the original name, which he says “had nothing to do with curbing the inflammatory firestorm set off by their tax and spend agenda.”

“President Biden himself admitted it had ‘less to do with reducing inflation’ and more to do with spending billions on their climate change agenda and making America more reliant on foreign energy,” said Arrington.
