In one of Tuesday’s less-watched elections, three Democratic Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices held onto their jobs.

Their wins marked a big victory for green groups who got involved in the normally low-key judicial retention elections in the Keystone State, where Democrats and liberal groups rallied to fight a well-funded conservative push to oust those judges.

“The people of Pennsylvania defeated the billionaires who spent big trying to convince them to remove three highly-qualified Justices from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court,” said Voters for Earthjustice Action Pennsylvania IEC Political Director Yaheiry Mora.
