Interior Secretary Deb Haaland is slated to speak Thursday at the Democratic National Convention ahead of Kamala Harris’ speech accepting the party’s presidential nomination.

Haaland, a former New Mexico congresswoman, has been Interior secretary since President Joe Biden’s term started in 2021. She’s been participating in the DNC in Chicago this week, including speaking at delegation events for New Mexico, Maryland and Nevada, among others.

She posted a video Monday on X — the first from her personal account since 2021 — saying this election “is personal to me” and “too much is at stake” in the race.
