During a campaign fundraising stop at San Francisco’s Fairmont Hotel on Sunday afternoon, Vice President Kamala Harris gave a shout-out to one of her closest friends in Congress.
Rep. Jared Huffman, a California Democrat, is “a leader on so many issues, a long-standing friend, and one of my great advisers over my career on all matters, including that of climate,” Harris told the crowd Sunday during her first trip back to San Francisco since she clinched the Democratic presidential nomination.
Harris’ launch to the top of the Democratic ticket after President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the race has turned a national spotlight onto the vice president’s nascent campaign, her policy positions and her network of allies and advisers.
On climate change, she and Huffman go way back.
