Oversight Republicans say they want to study the Biden administration’s “flawed energy legacies.”

House Oversight and Government Reform Chair James Comer launched an investigation Monday into the Biden administration’s energy policies, despite former President Joe Biden already being out of office.

The Kentucky Republican unveiled the probe with Economic Growth, Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs Subcommittee Chair Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) in a letter to new Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chair Mark Christie.

The Republicans said they are “investigating energy and environmental policies imposed by the Biden Administration that increased prices and limited choices for American consumers.”

While the investigation appears unlikely to turn up any new dirt on the former president’s policy decisions, it will provide Republicans a stage to hurl bombs at Democratic energy policy and prop up their own.
