Ashley McManus, a former top Republican staffer on the House Natural Resources Committee, has joined the energy-focused public affairs firm Lot Sixteen to lobby on mineral issues and projects like Alaska’s proposed Ambler mining road.

McManus, who served as staff director for the Energy and Mineral Resources Subcommittee since 2019, is now a vice president at the firm. She will work for energy, mining, manufacturing and infrastructure clients.

McManus is the latest Hill staffer to join Lot Sixteen, which lobbies for a number of minerals companies and the National Mining Association.

She’ll join Annie Gayman, a former staffer for Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski. She has been lobbying for Alaska Energy Metals, a company trying to develop a nickel deposit about 400 miles southeast of Fairbanks.
