California Democratic Rep. Jared Huffman has won a key endorsement to become ranking member of the House Natural Resources Committee next year.

The House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee also picked Angie Craig of Minnesota to become top Democrat on Agriculture and Gerry Connolly of Virginia for Oversight and Accountability ranking member.

The Natural Resources race has been particularly acrimonious. Huffman effectively pushed out current ranking member Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.). Rep. Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico then challenged Huffman with Grijalva’s backing.
