Utility group Edison Electric Institute has tapped the head of one of its member companies to be its interim CEO.

Pat Vincent-Collawn, CEO of New Mexico-based TXNM Energy, started Monday as the temporary head of the association that represents investor-based utilities, EEI announced.

Her arrival comes a week after Dan Brouillette abruptly announced his departure as CEO, just 10 months after taking the reins, following a tenure reportedly marked by tension with the heads of member companies. EEI announced its interim CEO plan last week along with Brouillette’s resignation.

“I am honored to lead EEI during such a pivotal time, as demand for electricity is growing at the fastest pace in decades. We have an incredible opportunity as an industry to build a brighter future and stronger economy for all Americans, while also delivering on our commitment to get the energy we provide as clean as we can as fast as we can without compromising customer reliability and affordability,” Vincent-Collawn said in a statement.
